In addition to enterprise software, Charles enjoys tinkering with electronic hobby projects, cooking, fitness, and reading.

enterpriseDIY.com was created to showcase free and or open source projects that we use in our company. We not only hope to introduce you to the software but to get you started using them, too.

On the above menu there are links to the Software page with descriptions and reviews. The HOW-TO link goes step-by-step instructions to install, basic configurations for the the software and selected plugins. And the Blog, with discussions on how we use the software, workflows, and tips for power users.

Free and Open Source Software

Open source software has a relatively long history in the computing world.... My interest in it... And my reason for building this site is to share what I've learned and as an attempt to give back to the community the knowledge it has given me. Besides being free, Privacy, security, ... In my opinion, information is meant to be free, what you create with it is your business. The economy is a huge pie, but it's not static in size, the more creative we are the larger it gets. There is enough for everyone if everyone contributes.

Sharing knowledge is the most fundamental act of friendship. Because it is a way you can give something without loosing something.
-Richard Stallman, founder of the GNU project and the Free Software Foundation
